Qualifications

• Experienced Manufacturing Engineer with knowledge of industry standards and best practices of manufacturing processes, procedures, process improvement, and strategic planning.
• Professional experience with product manufacturability with ability to drive internal initiatives such as process improvements, lean, and manufacturing technology enhancements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with design and fabrication for tooling, fixtures and manufacturing aides.
• Proficient working in 3D modelling software (e.g. CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Nx, etc), Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter, PDM, etc), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) programs (e.g. Apriso, iBASEt, SAP, etc).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, layouts, and procedures for assemblies, equipment installation, machining, painting, and material handling.
• Interpret drawings and model-based designs, translating them into actionable manufacturing steps using MES and CAD tools.
• Conduct manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Create specifications and procedures for tools, fixtures, and manufacturing aides, adapting equipment for production conditions.
• Ensure new designs are producible, cost-effective, and meet design-for-excellence goals.
• Identify production risks and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical and organizational challenges.
• Lead team members in implementing engineering changes, process improvements, and team initiatives.
• Provide on-floor production support, troubleshoot issues to root causes, and implement solutions.
• Introduce and optimize advanced manufacturing technologies and automation.
• Communicate directly with government customers and provide design producibility input.
• Support suppliers and internal teams in manufacturing processes.
• Develop inspection tools, incorporate quality points into Manufacturing Work Instructions, and ensure processes meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Apply statistical process control and data analytics to improve processes.
