Job summary

US Smokeless Tobacco Co in Hopkinsville, KY is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. You will work with IWS teams and cross-functional partners to optimize safety, quality, and productivity in a fully onsite role with regional travel.

You will develop process knowledge, analyze data, and lead improvements, supporting equipment upgrades, FAT/SAT, and change management, while coordinating with OEMs and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering technical support experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Experience supporting high-speed automated manufacturing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Experience in food, beverage or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
• Experience with automated processing and packaging systems.
• Knowledge of batch systems, process automation, and OEE.

Responsibilities

• Develop expert level process knowledge of manufacturing operations.
• Identify process constraints and opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze data and apply problem-solving techniques for design improvements.
• Lead actions to resolve equipment constraints and challenges.
• Provide technical on-floor support during downtime and production issues.
• Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning and qualification.
• Ensure proper documentation, backups, and change management processes.
• Assist with capital and expense project planning, budgeting, and timelines.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Support Integrated Work Systems (IWS) and operational excellence initiatives.
