Job description

Inpria is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer. This position will play a key technical role in scaling Inpria's next generation organometallic precursor manufacturing processes from pilot through commercial production. Working closely with Operations, R&D, Analytical, Engineering, Quality, and EHS, this position will support day-to-day production while leading process improvements, equipment design, manufacturing scale-up, and development of new purification technologies required to enable future business growth.

This is a unique opportunity to develop next-generation manufacturing technology for one of the world's leading EUV photoresist companies. The successful candidate will help design, scale, and implement specialized chemical processes and custom manufacturing equipment supporting advanced semiconductor materials.

Primary Responsibilities
Production Support & Operational Excellence
  • Support execution of production campaigns and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules, safety, quality, and throughput objectives.
  • Partner with Engineering and Maintenance to establish preventive maintenance programs and maximize equipment availability and reliability.
  • Support operational readiness, commissioning support, startup, and optimization of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Ensure safe handling and processing of air- and moisture-sensitive materials at scale.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Manufacturing Technology & Equipment Development
  • Design and specify new manufacturing equipment and unit operations to support future precursor production capacity.
  • Lead development of custom purification technologies and specialized unit operations including high-vacuum distillation, thin-film/wiped-film evaporation, solvent removal, and other separation processes for thermally sensitive organometallic materials.
  • Develop process specifications and work with equipment vendors on custom-designed reactors, purification systems, and auxiliary process equipment.
  • Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and identify opportunities to improve safety, throughput, product quality, and process robustness.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors from concept through design review, fabrication, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment qualification, commissioning, and process qualification.
Process Scale-Up
  • Lead scale-up of organometallic synthesis from laboratory and pilot scale into manufacturing.
  • Evaluate mixing, heat transfer, mass transfer, reaction kinetics, and purification challenges associated with increasing production scale.
  • Design and execute process development experiments to improve safety, scalability, manufacturability, robustness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, EHS, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operation and scale-up success.
Cross-functional Technical Leadership
  • Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement in yield, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs including safety performance, yield, throughput, equipment uptime, schedule attainment, and product quality.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to monitor process stability and capability with the Quality team.
  • Partner closely with the Quality team to establish and refine quality management systems, including specifications, control plans, and deviation investigations.
  • Analyze process and quality data to identify trends, variability, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of MES, LIMS, and manufacturing data systems to improve process control, traceability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to manufacturing personnel.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering with chemical process experience, or related engineering discipline.
  • 6–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process operations, or process scale-up.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations and process scale-up activities.
  • Demonstrated success scaling chemical processes from pilot to manufacturing scale.
  • Experience working with highly reactive, air- and moisture-sensitive chemical systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, specifying, commissioning, or improving chemical process equipment and unit operations.
  • Familiarity with large-scale production equipment and unit operations.
  • Experience supporting chemical manufacturing operations and commissioning new process equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or supervising manufacturing personnel.
  • Prior involvement in commissioning or startup of new chemical processes or facilities.
  • Experience working with external equipment vendors, OEMs, or engineering firms on custom process equipment.
  • Experience with SPC tools, data analysis, and process capability metrics (Cp/Cpk).
  • Exposure to or experience implementing MES and/or LIMS systems in a manufacturing or lab environment.
  • Experience designing or implementing chemical process equipment including reactors, distillation systems, evaporation systems, filtration systems, or other unit operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear a respirator (upon training/certification) and standard PPE as required.
