Job summary

Generac in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer focused on process optimization for generator production and genset packaging. You will design end-to-end manufacturing systems, build digital twins, and drive capacity planning and automation roadmaps with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5 years in manufacturing engineering, and hands-on leadership to deliver cost, quality, and throughput improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
• At least 5 years of related engineering experience in a similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize end-to-end manufacturing systems for generator assembly and genset packaging.
• Develop long-term capacity strategies and automation roadmaps; create digital twins to predict bottlenecks.
• Lead Lean transformations across fabrication, assembly, testing, and logistics; champion 5S, Kanban, SMED.
• Identify and implement automation solutions (Cobots, AGVs, automated test systems) and collaborate with IT/controls teams.
• Lead major capital projects including new lines, plant setup, and layout redesign; mentor junior engineers.
