Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and distribution operations in alignment with the General Manager’s strategic initiatives. The Production Manager will guide Supervisors and Leads responsible for hourly team members, leveraging lean and continuous improvement to drive plant performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production management in manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of conditional logic (if/and/or).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and self-directed; team player.
• Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and manage multi-shift production and distribution operations.
• Review production, quality control and operational reports.
• Analyze quality issues and determine root cause for corrective actions.
• Plan and direct production activities and set priorities for cost-effective operations.
• Manage 4–6 supervisors; conduct annual evaluations and mid-year reviews.
• Promote safe work environment and champion safety programs.
• Collaborate with General Manager to set production schedules and goals.
• Report delays and backorders; remove obstacles to meet ship dates.
• Partner with HR on hiring practices and transfers; adhere to HR policies.
• Work with managers to train, motivate, and reward staff.
• Support Open Door Policy and communication programs; align CI with goals.
• Work with CI Manager and Sr Engineering to plan Capital Requisitions and improvements.
• Track KPIs to evaluate effectiveness and drive annual goals.
• Build a World-Class Production Team and sustainable processes.
