Job summary

Sanofi is seeking a Deputy Director of Manufacturing Operations in Pearl River, NY. You will lead upstream and downstream manufacturing activities, drive readiness, and ensure GMP/GDP compliance across the site. The role requires strong Lean methods, RCA, and cross-functional collaboration with Process Development, Quality, and Engineering.

You will mentor teams, manage budgets, and help shape strategic initiatives in a fast-paced biopharma environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, life sciences, business, or related field.
• 5–7 years of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership in a GMP manufacturing environment.
• Strong GMP and GDP knowledge and Lean methodologies.
• Proven root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Experience with performance management routines (e.g., +QDCI).
• Conflicts management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Understanding of cell growth and propagation in biopharma manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage manufacturing teams supporting upstream and downstream operations.
• Ensure manufacturing areas are safe and production-ready; monitor schedules for targets and compliance.
• Lead a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Coach and develop team members at all levels; manage cross-function relationships.
• Lead deviation investigations and RCA to resolve manufacturing deviations.
• Collaborate with Process Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering for tech transfers and improvements.
• Identify and elevate risks to readiness, supply continuity, or compliance; assist budget/resource planning.
