Job summary
HID Global, a leader in access control solutions, seeks a Manufacturing Equipment Development Engineer in Austin, TX. You will own equipment lifecycle from need identification through production release, collaborating with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver scalable solutions.
The role requires leading capital projects, evaluating technologies, and partnering with global teams to optimize safety, quality, and throughput.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
- 7+ years of manufacturing equipment engineering or related experience.
- Experience leading equipment projects from concept through production implementation.
- Experience developing RFQs, URS documents, technical specifications, and capital equipment justifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead equipment lifecycle from opportunity identification to production release.
- Collaborate with global teams to define equipment requirements and business needs.
- Develop equipment specifications, URS, and procurement packages.
- Evaluate manufacturing technologies and equipment suppliers for best technical and commercial fit.
- Manage RFQ/RFI processes and supplier evaluations, including cost/benefit analyses.
- Develop roadmaps and strategies to support current and future manufacturing needs.
- Coordinate FAT, SAT, installation, startup, and qualification activities.
- Provide technical leadership during implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
