Job summary

Lyten, Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Controls Engineer to lead troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation domains.

You will own and scale controls, instrumentation, and data systems for electrode powders, slurries, and coatings, and architect automated data pipelines for real-time visibility. You will build diagnostics, alarm strategies, and health monitoring to prevent failures, acting as the technical lead during equipment installs, upgrades, and scale-up efforts in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field with 5+ years in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, gas).
• Deep understanding of 4–20 mA signals, control architectures, and industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC).
• Experience leading root cause investigations with measurable uptime/reliability improvements.
• Strong ownership mindset to drive cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced production.

• Own and scale controls, instrumentation, and manufacturing data systems for electrode powders, slurries and coatings
• Architect and implement automated data pipelines from equipment (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC) into centralized systems, enabling real‑time process visibility
• Build and deploy diagnostics, alarm strategies, and health monitoring systems to detect and prevent failures
• Serve as the technical lead for controls and instrumentation in equipment installs, upgrades, and scale-up efforts, partnering closely with operations and maintenance teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in industrial manufacturing environments
• Strong hands‑on experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment, electrical systems, and industrial instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, gas systems)
• Deep understanding of signal systems (e.g., 4–20 mA), control architectures, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC)
• Experience leading root cause investigations and delivering measurable improvements in uptime, reliability, or process performance
• High ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive cross‑functional initiatives in fast‑paced production environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming or modifying ladder logic in production systems
• Experience building or scaling manufacturing data infrastructure (e.g., Ignition, FactoryTalk, historians; Python/SQL a plus)
• Experience with powder handling, high‑temperature processing, reactors, and slurries
• Experience standardizing controls across multiple tools or supporting factory scale‑up in advanced manufacturing (battery, semiconductor, materials)

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Be able to work in a lab standing up to 8 hours each day.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between $128,200.00 - $192,400.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
