Job summary

Lyten, Inc. is seeking a hands‑on Sr Technician — Anode to safely operate processing and manufacturing equipment used to develop lithium metal anode materials for next‑generation Li‑S batteries.

The role requires performing wet chemical synthesis, maintaining lab and pilot equipment (furnaces, extruders, rolling mills), logging data, and ensuring SOPs and safety in dry room environments.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's degree (unrelated field) AND 5+ years of experience in R&D or low volume manufacturing OR 1+ years of experience with significant responsibilities at a high‑volume cell manufacturing facility.
• Experience with wet chemical synthesis operations, including safe handling of chemicals, solvents, solution preparation, and reaction monitoring.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience operating processing equipment (e.g., extruders, rolling mills, furnaces, or automated assembly lines).
• Strong manual dexterity and experience working in controlled environments (gloveboxes, dry rooms, or cleanrooms).
• Track record of strict safety protocols for hazardous materials or reactive chemistry.
• Knowledge of industrial lithium foil processes: purification, ingot casting, extrusion, rolling and cladding.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform wet chemical synthesis operations to prepare precursors, solutions, or materials required for lithium alloy development.
• Safely operate and maintain lab and pilot‑scale equipment, including high‑temperature furnaces, mixing equipment, extruder, and rolling mills.
• Produce high‑purity lithium metal anode foils and alloy formulations according to engineering specifications.
• Assist engineers in transitioning lithium metal processing from laboratory bench scale to roll‑to‑roll pilot manufacturing.
• Execute DOE for fabrication and testing of new anode materials.
• Perform standard inspection and quality control checks on raw lithium materials and finished electrodes.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols for dry room environments and reactive metal handling.
• Accurately log process data and equipment parameters.

We are looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Sr Technician — Anode to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of processing and manufacturing equipment used to develop lithium metal anode materials for next‑generation Lithium‑Sulfur (Li‑S) batteries.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely perform wet chemical synthesis operations to prepare precursors, solutions, or materials required for lithium alloy development.
• Safely operate and maintain specialized lab and pilot‑scale equipment, including high‑temperature furnaces, mixing equipment, extruder, and rolling mills.
• Produce high‑purity, high‑quality lithium metal anode foils and alloy formulations according to engineering specifications.
• Assist engineers in transitioning lithium metal processing from a laboratory bench scale to a roll‑to‑roll pilot manufacturing line.
• Execute DOE for fabrication and testing of new anode materials.
• Perform standard inspection and quality control checks on raw lithium materials and finished electrodes to ensure consistency.
• Strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols for dry room environments and reactive metal handling.
• Accurately log process data and equipment parameters.

Required Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor's degree (unrelated field) AND 5+ years of experience in R&D or low volume manufacturing OR 1+ years of experience with significant responsibilities at a high‑volume cell manufacturing facility.
• Demonstrated experience with wet chemical synthesis operations, including safe handling of chemicals, solvents, solution preparation, and reaction monitoring.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience operating processing equipment (e.g., extruders, rolling mills, furnaces, or automated assembly lines).
• Strong manual dexterity and experience working in controlled environments (e.g., gloveboxes, dry rooms, or cleanrooms).
• A proven track record of adhering to strict safety protocols, particularly regarding hazardous materials or reactive chemistry.
• Knowledge of industrial lithium foil process: lithium purification, lithium metal ingot casting, metal foil extrusion, foil rolling and cladding.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience handling raw lithium metal, lithium purification, or ingot casting.
• Familiarity with roll‑to‑roll (R2R) manufacturing equipment or web‑handling systems.
• Experience of setting up large roll to roll manufacturing equipment and trouble‑shoot.
• Basic knowledge of Li metal battery components.
• Experience using basic characterization tools (thickness gauges, optical microscopes, etc.).

Physical Requirements

• Be able to work in glovebox and dry room environment: <1.0% Relative Humidity.
• Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Compensations Range

The expected base salary range for this position is between $42.12 - $63.17. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job‑related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company‑specific knowledge. In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable).
