Job summary

Fresenius Kabi in Melrose Park, IL, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer leader to supervise a team and drive process improvements. You will manage escalation, coordinate with QA/R&D, and enhance equipment reliability across formulation, filling, packaging, and warehousing lines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 5+ years in regulated pharma manufacturing, with hands-on PLC experience (Siemens/AB). Excellent project leadership and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in plant manufacturing within a regulated cGMP environment.
• Experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley control systems and PLC programming.
• Ability to perform analytical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Experience reading P&IDs and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Manufacturing Engineers on daily engineering issues and escalation.
• Provide ideas for continuous improvement to optimize processes, reduce costs and improve quality.
• Drive improvement projects, including funding and vendor communication with Sr. Manager, Production.
• Rebuild and upgrade site utility systems and production equipment across multiple areas.
• Ensure equipment and systems stay validated and compliant with cGMP, OSHA, EPA, ISO, and local regs.
• Coordinate successful transfer of new products/technologies with QA, Supply Chain, and R&D.
• Lead investigations into deviations and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and train on engineering systems.
• Assist in preparing funding requests with detailed project descriptions and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management Systems.
