Job summary

Fresenius Kabi in Melrose Park, IL is seeking a project-focused engineer to lead the design, development and scaling of complex pharmaceutical formulations and processing technologies. You will guide a multidisciplinary team and manage projects from concept through validation, ensuring safety, quality and cost targets are met.

Requirements include a BS in chemical/process/pharmaceutical engineering and at least 5 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with hands-on experience in lyophilization,

Qualifications

• BS in chemical, process or pharmaceutical engineering or related field (strongly preferred).
• 5 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical industries focusing on complex formulations and manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with validated manufacturing process systems and batch or continuous process design.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and develop processing technologies for complex formulations.
• Scale-up concepts for lab to production in parenteral nutrition and generic pharma.
• Lead engineering design for complex fluid-based products (lipid emulsions, lyophilized products).
• Oversee procurement, commissioning, qualification and installation of equipment and processes.
• Coordinate technology transfer to manufacturing scale with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare URS, risk assessments and safety analyses for projects.
• Develop P&IDs and 3D models of process skids and equipment.
