Job summary

Waters Corporation in New Castle, DE seeks a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the team responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing systems and processes for electro‑mechanical equipment. You will drive cost‑reduction, quality improvements, and efficient NPI readiness.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing with 5+ years in leadership, strong analytical and budget skills, and hands‑on experience with DFMA, Lean, Six Sigma, and SAP/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree in Engineering or similar discipline (minimum 10+ years in manufacturing electro‑mechanical equipment)
• Analytical, problem-solving skills and digital literacy; ability to assess project performance and drive improvement
• Budget planning, organizational and planning skills, strong communication ability
• Proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration and change management
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including mechanical and electrical assembly, testing and inspection
• Experience with team building, project oversight, and developing engineering KPIs

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers, fostering accountability, productivity and safety.
• Oversee development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, tools, and failure analysis, ensuring ISO9001 compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement through DFMA, visual standard work, cost-reduction, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen activities.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, supply chain and other stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and drive operational excellence.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through cross-functional core teams for manufacturing readiness.
• Evaluate engineering requests for feasibility, make/buy decisions, and prioritization.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and capital equipment acquisitions to improve efficiency.
• Lead initiatives to improve product quality and production efficiencies using Six Sigma/Lean/TPM methods.
• Mentor and coach engineers to collaborate with design, quality, maintenance and production teams.
