Job summary

Surgistar, a division of Microsurgical Technology, seeks a Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead a team that designs, implements, and optimizes automated manufacturing systems in Vista, CA. You will drive efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related).
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering in regulated environment (medical device preferred).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving initiatives.
• CAD software (SolidWorks) and GD&T proficiency.
• Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor manufacturing engineering personnel and set priorities.
• Oversee metallurgical processing and integration into products.
• Sustain engineering for released products and ECOs, CAPA, and root-cause analysis.
• Drive process improvement, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
• Conduct validation, testing, and commissioning of systems.
• Support NPI, design transfer, and DFM.
• Create and maintain technical docs and train staff on new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (ISO13485, FDA).
