Job summary

Fisica Inc. in San Leandro, CA, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to ensure manufacturability of drawings, develop tooling and fixtures, and lead cost-to-manufacture analyses. You will coordinate with Engineering, PM, Material Planning, and Production to optimize processes and maintain BOM accuracy. Minimum six years in a related field with a B.S.

in engineering (M.S. preferred). Proficiency in Creo Parametric and ERP/MES/PLM systems is desired; travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering with a minimum of six years of related experience, or a MS with four years, or 10 years of sustaining engineering in electro-mechanical assembly.
• Experience with tool design principles, material handling and assembly processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings for manufacturability and develop manufacturing plans including cost to manufacture.
• Convert engineering docs to manufacturing formats with accurate BOMs and change control.
• Write and update routing sheets for fabrication and assembly; generate BOMs.
• Review drawings with GD&T; design tooling and fixtures as needed.
• Provide sustaining production support and improve procedures for production released products.
• Interface with suppliers for process support.
• Conduct cost estimates for manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Design techniques to increase yield and reduce costs; lean/6S experience preferred.
• Prepare office/factory layouts as required.
• Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) and PRB; conduct process audits.
