Job summary

Fisica in San Leandro, CA, seeks a Sr. Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to lead end‑to‑end manufacturing development for parts and assemblies.

The role interfaces with engineering, program management, material planning and production to ensure manufacturability, cost estimates, and tooling needs are met. Responsibilities include creating BOMs, routing sheets, GD&T reviews, and designing fixtures with Creo Parametric.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Engineering with 6+ years of related experience; MS/ME considered with 4+ years.
• Candidates w/o degrees may qualify with 10+ years of sustaining engineering in electro‑mechanical assembly.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
• Experience with CREO Parametric and ERP/MES/PLM systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review manufacturability, reliability and quality requirements for drawings.
• Develop manufacturing plans including cost to manufacture.
• Create BOMs and update routing sheets for fabrication and assembly.
• Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling using Creo or CAD tools.
• Provide sustaining production support and process improvements.
• Interface with suppliers for process support.
• Analyze manufacturing cost estimates and tooling costs.
• Implement lean/6S methods to increase yield and reduce costs.
• Participate in change control boards and site audits.
