Job summary

Greenheck Group in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II/Sr. to optimize factory costs, quality, and customer service through new or improved processes, equipment, tooling, and plant layout.

The role is based in Knoxville, with relocation consideration for qualified candidates to the Knoxville area. You will lead improvements, support 5S and Lean initiatives, mentor teammates, and coordinate cross-functional projects to ensure integrated manufacturing, sales, finance, and product

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering required.
CAD skills required.
2 Year / Associate Degree in engineering or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
4 Year / Bachelor Degree in engineering is preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
General fluency in SAP.
Experience with Lean concepts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement moderate complexity training initiatives to support manufacturing.
Identify, specify, and justify moderate complexity capital expenditures.
Investigate, purchase, and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment.
Recognize, recommend and validate design and process changes to improve manufacturability. Implement changes with product design engineering.
Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, department layout and machinery efficiency.
Analyze and make recommendations using summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
Lead and support safety, 5S, and Lean initiatives. Expected to complete internal Lean Leader certification.
Will provide mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports.
Manage moderately complex team projects involving individuals from various departments to ensure integration between manufacturing, sales, finance, marketing and product engineering.
Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
Support production and manufacturing quality management system and policies.
