Job summary

A Milwaukee area client in the heavy mobile equipment industry seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design engineering with production. You will develop, implement, and improve processes to maintain capability, improve quality, reduce cost, enhance safety, and maximize throughput on the factory floor.

The role requires 5–12 years in manufacturing engineering for large assemblies, strong CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo), and proficiency with Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's preferred.
5–12 years manufacturing engineering experience in a large assembly operation.
Proficiency with CAD (Pro-E/Creo), Word, Excel, Access.
Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma.
Experience establishing assembly lines from concept to production.

Responsibilities

Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation.
Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion.
Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor; manage integration into existing lines with understanding of new processes affecting line balance, pfMEA, and line efficiency.
Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (how best to assemble products).
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts to reduce waste in manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot production line problems and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line/cell layout, tooling, and part flow.
Capital equipment justification and safety/ergonomic enhancements.
