Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to advance brownfield operations in Syracuse, NY. You will analyze data packages, develop assembly instructions, fixtures, and tooling, and contribute to efficient production systems using Lean principles.

You will collaborate with assemblers and inspectors to improve processes, develop factory layouts, and support cost-effective manufacturing while upholding Saab values and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline; 5+ years manufacturing experience, or Master's with 3+ years.
• Demonstrated drive, innovation and initiative.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across functional areas within an operation.
• Ability to develop relationships with internal and external partners.
• Ability to lead and manage change in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technical data packages to develop and sustain assembly instructions, routers, tools, and work cells.
• Contribute to production systems and working methods for low-cost, high-quality production.
• Develop new technical solutions and efficient production systems based on Lean principles.
• Assist in 5S, BTS, and idea systems.
• Engage with assemblers, technicians, and inspectors to improve value-added processes.
• Develop factory layouts and production flow with existing facilities and capital buildout.
• Assist in developing Basis of Estimates for manufacturing activities.
