Job summary

Sila Nanotechnologies is seeking a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering to ensure reliable operation and optimization of production equipment. You will troubleshoot daily issues, design improvements, and maintain accurate engineering documentation to support operations.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work on mechanical systems, from pumps and furnaces to material handling equipment, with a focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with pumps, motors, blowers, and valves; high-temperature environments is a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD software for mechanical design, drafting, and drawing review.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
• PSM familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on mechanical engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve daily production issues related to equipment.
• Create and revise CAD models, fabrication drawings, and mechanical fixture designs to support operational needs.
• Refine equipment health check strategies, maintenance procedures, and lubrication plans with the Maintenance team.
• Perform detailed technical reviews of mechanical design documents to ensure compliance with codes and internal specs.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external fabrication and repair services for specialized equipment.
• Utilize operational data to propose and implement condition-based monitoring procedures.
• Participate in feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for equipment upgrades or reliability projects.
• Document solutions and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
