Job description

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, production processes, and facility systems. This role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing operations run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards while supporting equipment reliability and operational excellence. This is an individual contributor role requiring sound engineering judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, machinery, tools, and electromechanical systems.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reliability, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and production issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and startup activities for new and existing manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Facilities, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and improve operational performance.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance, maintainability, and long-term reliability.
  • Assist in developing equipment specifications, work instructions, preventive maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Support facility utility systems, including centralized heating, gas, water, steam, and other manufacturing infrastructure as needed.
  • Review equipment performance and field installations, recommending design or process modifications to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process optimization, waste reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with company quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support engineering projects and equipment improvements.
  • Manage multiple technical assignments while maintaining accurate documentation and meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience supporting manufacturing operations, production equipment, or industrial processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or electromechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and make sound engineering decisions based on factual information.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, or aerospace.
  • Experience supporting capital equipment installation, equipment qualification, or manufacturing process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, equipment validation, and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, facility utility systems, or electromechanical machinery.
