Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc in Huntsville, AL seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive design-for-manufacturing from concept through production. You will liaise with Design, Procurement, Assembly and Quality to ensure efficient manufacturing and implement automation where feasible.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering with electronics manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving skills and a track record in Lean/continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent with strong manufacturing background.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing and design reviews.
• Willingness to travel and work in a 24/7 global operation.
• Strong problem solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend design reviews and evaluate manufacturability and costs.
• Review engineering drawings prior to Production Release.
• Assist make/buy evaluations and vendor capabilities.
• Monitor daily production activities and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate with Methods and Tooling for tools and fixtures.
• Lead Lean initiatives like 5S, TPM, and VSM.
