Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a leader in HVAC manufacturing, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Charlotte, NC to tackle complex production challenges, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement in air-cooled chiller manufacturing.

You will lead manufacturing engineering activities, support new product introductions, and collaborate across functions to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (ME/EE/Tech).
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or automation experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and production issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support for air-cooled chiller production.
• Lead resolution of complex issues involving mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, controls, and product testing.
• Identify and eliminate manufacturing constraints affecting safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop and improve processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and factory testing.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to increase quality, throughput, and efficiency.
• Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, and SOPs.
• Partner with Industrial Engineering on factory flow, capacity, and productivity.
• Troubleshoot electrical assemblies, control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, networks.
• Interpret electrical schematics and controls documentation.
• Support root-cause investigations for electrical, controls, and software issues.
• Troubleshoot mechanical assembly and refrigeration-related challenges.
• Improve assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and material presentation.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to enhance manufacturability.
• Support new product launches through process development and validation.
• Participate in design reviews and provide DFM feedback.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, IE, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Product Engineering.
