Job summary

Blue Origin's Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking a senior professional to set manufacturing direction for vehicle architectures and to ensure designs are manufacturable from inception. You will define engineering strategies and lead cross‑functional collaboration across programs, with a focus on planning, trades, and architecture development before hardware builds.

The role requires strong leadership, aerospace manufacturing experience, and the ability to mentor engineers while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience leading manufacturing solutions across vehicle architectures.
• Ability to influence design requirements and drive producibility.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools (NX/CATIA/SolidWorks).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to relocate and travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as manufacturing focal for subsystems and AI&T activities, establishing manufacturing plans for vehicle architectures.
• Plan for and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware, providing hands-on support.
• Drive DFX principles, conduct producibility assessments, support trade studies, and develop roadmaps to bridge manufacturing gaps.
• Develop manufacturing artifacts including Production Readiness Level assessments, manufacturing management plans, build strategies, and tooling designs.
• Partner with Program Management, Design Engineering, and Operations to identify risks and influence decisions.
• Mentor engineers, challenge teams, and foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
