Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices, Inc in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, design tooling and fixtures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across production lines. You will provide hands-on engineering support, define materials and methods, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years in aerospace/defense, GD&T and DFMA experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical/aerospace/materials related field.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense.
• Experience interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience applying DFMA/DFC principles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate equipment and tooling performance to verify efficiency and process capability.
• Define assembly procedures and build sequences to drive operational efficiency.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and processes on manufacturing lines.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes focusing on SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
• Define materials, tooling, fixtures, and methods to ensure safety and quality in process design.
