Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to own blades and vanes investment casting from ceramic cores through wax, shell, and cast. You will lead commissioning, FAT/SAT, supplier management, and customize pre-cast equipment including VIM furnaces and wax injection lines.

You will drive production-ready capability, hit rate and yield targets, develop PFMEAs and control plans, and mentor technicians in a fast-paced aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, electrical, chemical, materials science, or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of equipment, manufacturing, or process engineering, including hands-on installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, FAT, SAT, supplier management, and customization of pre-cast equipment (VIM furnaces, ceramic and wax injection, shell dip lines, kilns/ ovens).
• Coordinate facilities and services: power, water, waste, controls, network, and MES.
• Own post-commissioning process ownership; drive cost, rate, yield, and quality.
• Develop/write work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, and change-control docs.
• Own EHS and process safety for assigned equipment including high-temp, vacuum, and chemical ops.
• Troubleshoot floor issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; collaborate cross-functionally.
