Job summary

AeroControlex, based in Ohio, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead precision machining process development and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

The role combines hands-on engineering with cross‑functional collaboration to optimize tooling, fixtures, and production methods, while mentoring peers and driving efficiency across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing engineering experience in a precision machining environment, preferably aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience developing and supporting tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on engineering experience with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor and collaborate with production and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and workholding for precision‑machined components.
• Analyze engineering drawings, models, and prototypes to establish efficient production methods.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process drawings, operation sheets, and production instructions.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.
• Lead capital and productivity projects, including automation, special tooling, and machine improvements.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production, Quality, and CNC Programming to improve manufacturability, support engineering changes, and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and production employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned
