Job description

Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Production & Process Improvement
About the Company:

Join a global leader in compact construction and industrial equipment recognized for engineering innovation, manufacturing excellence, and continuous growth. This North American manufacturing operation serves as a key hub for product development, production, and strategic OEM partnerships, offering engineers the opportunity to make a visible impact on both products and processes.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to support one of the organization's most important growth initiatives within its compact excavator manufacturing operation.

This role will focus on assembly process optimization, production scalability, quality improvement, and continuous improvement efforts as the business continues to expand. The successful candidate will help drive production growth, improve throughput, strengthen manufacturing processes, and support a highly visible product line.

This is not a maintenance-focused engineering role. The successful candidate will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, strengthen quality systems, and support operational excellence.

Why You'll Love It Here:
  • Join a talented, collaborative manufacturing engineering team.
  • Play a key role supporting a growing product line and strategic OEM partnership.
  • Opportunity to influence manufacturing processes, quality systems, labor efficiency, and production strategy.
  • Flexible work schedules. Many engineers work longer days Monday through Thursday and leave by noon on Fridays.
  • Highly visible role with exposure to engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Competitive compensation package (including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness incentives, and fitness facilities) with a target salary range of $90,000 - $115,000, depending on experience and overall fit, plus bonus opportunity.
  • Opportunity to work with recognizable products that are used around the world.
What We're Looking For:
  • Hands-on engineer who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor.
  • Strong problem solver who can independently identify opportunities and drive solutions.
  • Comfortable leading projects and influencing teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly engaged.
  • Someone excited by the opportunity to support a rapidly growing manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Process Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Optimize assembly processes to improve labor efficiency and production flow.
  • Lead line balancing activities and identify opportunities to eliminate waste.
  • Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes that support scalable growth.
Production Floor Support
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity.
  • Partner directly with supervisors, operators, quality, and production teams to implement sustainable solutions.
Quality & Operational Excellence
  • Strengthen process controls and mistake-proofing efforts.
  • Improve manufacturing quality through systematic problem-solving techniques.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions.
  • New Product Introduction & Manufacturing Readiness
  • Support product launches and production ramp-ups.
  • Participate in process planning, tooling selection, fixture design, layouts, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting customer quality and delivery expectations.
Leadership & Mentorship
  • Serve as a technical leader and resource for less experienced engineers.
  • Mentor team members and help drive engineering best practices.
  • Lead projects and influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience required.
  • Experience supporting assembly operations within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automotive, agricultural equipment, or other complex manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
  • Assembly process development and optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, A3, 5-Why, or similar methodologies.
  • Line balancing and production flow analysis.
  • Torque tooling, fixtures, material handling systems, and manufacturing process controls.
  • CAD experience required. Experience with Siemens NX, DraftSight/AutoCAD, SAP, or similar systems preferred. Experience utilizing 3D modeling and/or 3D printing technology is a plus.

If you're an engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and seeing your work directly impact production, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
