Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Are you a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for bringing innovative clean energy technologies to life? Join a forward-thinking organization at the forefront of distributed power generation, where you'll play a critical role in scaling cutting-edge solutions from prototype to full-scale production.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Partner closely with industrialization leadership and design engineering to develop initial build processes for groundbreaking power generation systems and then expertly adapt and scale these for efficient, high-volume manufacturing.
  • Design, develop, and implement optimized manufacturing processes for the assembly of critical power generation components.
  • Champion Lean manufacturing principles and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity, eliminate waste, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for assembly processes, providing crucial guidance and support to production teams.
  • Explore and integrate additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies into production workflows to enhance design flexibility and drive cost reductions.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and key objectives.
  • Drive problem-solving efforts and conduct thorough root cause analysis to resolve production challenges and elevate product quality.
  • Design and specify essential tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support seamless production activities.

Here’s what our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced technical or business degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with significant exposure to the assembly of complex mechanical or electrical systems (engine, generator, or electric motor assembly experience is highly valued).
  • A strong understanding of business case development and value creation, with the ability to objectively evaluate and recommend optimal paths forward.
  • Expertise in designing and improving manufacturing processes, including Lean, Kaizen, error-proofing, and fixture design. Experience with DOE, gage R&R, and process qualifications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in designing tooling for mid-to-high volume manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing automation solutions within production processes.
  • Experience taking prototype processes and successfully transitioning them to full-scale production.
  • Familiarity with design software (e.g., NX, CAD, stackup, GD&T) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive or aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements is highly preferred.
