Apple is seeking a Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE) for hardware enclosures in Cupertino, CA. You will drive development of key mechanical manufacturing processes across the supply base, collaborating with Industrial Design, Product Design, and suppliers worldwide to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-time mechanical manufacturing experience.
• BS, MS or PhD in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Define best-in-class manufacturing processes to meet design and operational requirements.
• Develop and document processes with all parameters and consumables.
• Collaborate with supply chain and contract manufacturers to define requirements.
• Lead at manufacturing sites during development and ramp, driving issues to resolution.
• Use data analysis, DOEs, and SPC to drive decisions.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify premier equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
• Define tolerances and specifications by demonstrating process capability.
