Job summary
TE Connectivity in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Controls Engineer to act as the site automation specialist, leading complex projects from concept through commissioning and production handoff.
You will apply deep technical expertise to drive reliability, safety, and efficiency in laser-cutting, welding, and ablation processes, coordinating with quality, R&D, and external integrators in a regulated medical device environment.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
- Master's in robotics or control systems is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing automation.
- Strong PLC/HMI/vision experience.
- CAD software proficiency.
- Experience with integrators, SAP, FAT/SAT, and validation in regulated environments.
- CAP certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own safety, risk, and technical project planning for automation.
- Lead site-level automation projects from feasibility to production release.
- Interact with external integrators and equipment suppliers.
- Develop and validate fixtures, tooling, and test setups.
- Create and maintain SOPs, validation protocols, and training materials.
- Ensure ISO 13485, GMP, QSR compliance.
