Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Controller to serve as a strategic business partner across operations and leadership in a growing manufacturing environment. The role combines traditional accounting with forecasting, analysis, and data-driven decision making, supporting multiple manufacturing locations and key strategic initiatives.

The Controller translates complex financial information into actionable insights, leads close processes, forecasting, and cost analyses, and partners with plant leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting plant operations and business leaders in a production-focused setting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on experience performing variance analysis, cost analysis, and profitability reviews.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for modeling, analysis, and reporting.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and operational reports for multiple locations.
• Develop, consolidate, and present monthly sales and financial forecasts to leadership.
• Partner with operations, sales, and plant leadership to support performance.
• Conduct detailed cost, margin, and profitability analyses.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and recommend actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives.
• Analyze inventory, costing, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Participate in capital investment evaluations and improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Drive process improvements and reporting enhancements.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with plant and corporate teams.
• Present financial information and recommendations clearly to leadership.
• Contribute to strategic business decisions and initiatives.
