Job summary

MiniMed in the Los Angeles area is seeking a Senior Manufacturing AI/Data Science Engineer to advance cloud data infrastructure for manufacturing and supply chain. The role focuses on delivering predictive and AI-driven solutions to improve design, build, and delivery of medical devices.

This position requires 5+ years in data science within manufacturing or industrial operations, with MES/ERP familiarity and strong Python/SQL and cloud experience. Hybrid onsite in Northridge CA or St.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of applied data science or ML engineering experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial operations
• Familiarity with MES and ERP data structures
• Proficient in Python for data science and ML development with libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow
• Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure and AWS
• Experience deploying production ML models and analytics pipelines
• Exposure to computer vision, NLP, or generative AI in industrial contexts
• Experience with BI and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
• Ability to communicate complex analytics to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional, matrixed environments

Responsibilities

• Mature manufacturing data pipelines and partner with data engineering to deploy changes
• Translate complex datasets into actionable, governed insights to improve operations
• Provide advanced analytical support for root-cause investigations with statistical rigor
• Identify opportunities for AI/ML integration across manufacturing, supply chain, and NPI
• Serve as the data science partner to operational teams and mentor theDS team
