Job summary

Angstrom Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Accountant for the Taylor, Michigan plant. This role focuses on managing the financial accounting of the Taylor facility, analyzing costs, and supporting profitability improvements.

The Senior Accountant reports to Corporate Finance and to the Plant Manager. Responsibilities include month-end close, GL control, fixed assets, variance analysis, and financial/operational insights to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Accounting at a Plant.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• ERP System experience, especially SAP, or similar.
• Good judgment, problem identification, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Manage all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain General Ledger accuracy and GAAP compliance with reconciliations.
• Oversee Fixed Assets accounting including depreciation, CAPEX tracking, and disposals.
• Perform detailed variance analysis and explain deviations from plan.
• Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
• Track AR, AP, and payroll GLs to meet financial objectives.
• Prepare financial forecasts and projections; assist ERP improvements.
