Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Accountant in Virginia to help build and scale cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance processes as the organization expands production.

This hands-on role partners with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain, owning costing, reporting, controls, and operational analysis to drive cost visibility and performance in a complex manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• At least 3 years of recent manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, inventory costing, routings, variances, WIP and finished goods.
• Experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve manufacturing cost accounting processes.
• Develop costing methodologies for products, components, and sub-assemblies.
• Track and analyze material, labor, overhead, and production variances.
• Manage inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and obsolete inventory processes.
• Work with Operations and Engineering to maintain BOM accuracy and cost visibility.
• Support month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, operational KPIs, and cost-per-unit analysis.
• Evaluate manufacturing CapEx and support make-versus-buy decisions.
• Help strengthen internal controls across inventory, procurement, and production activity.
• Support ERP improvements, with Deltek Costpoint experience desirable.

A growing aerospace company is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Accountant to help build and scale its cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance processes as the organization expands production.

This is a hands‑on role partnering closely with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain, with significant ownership over costing, reporting, controls, and operational analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and improve manufacturing cost accounting processes
• Develop and maintain costing methodologies for products, components, and sub-assemblies
• Track and analyze material, labor, overhead, and production variances
• Manage and improve inventory valuation, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Support cycle counts, physical inventory, and excess/obsolete inventory processes
• Work with Operations and Engineering to maintain BOM accuracy and improve cost visibility
• Support month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, operational KPIs, and cost-per-unit analysis
• Evaluate manufacturing CapEx and support make-versus-buy decisions
• Help strengthen internal controls across inventory, procurement, and production activity
• Support ERP and systems improvements, with Deltek Costpoint experience highly desirable
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for operational and technical teams

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• At least 3 years of recent manufacturing or cost accounting experience
• Strong understanding of:
  • BOMs
  • Inventory costing
  • Manufacturing routings
  • Labor and overhead variances
  • WIP and finished goods
  • Hardware supply chains
• Experience working within a complex manufacturing environment
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Highly Desirable

• Aerospace, defense, automotive, EV, electronics, or other advanced hardware manufacturing experience
• Experience in a high-growth or scaling manufacturing business
• Deltek Costpoint
• Government contracting or DCAA exposure
• CMA and/or CPIM certification
• Experience helping implement or improve manufacturing finance processes and controls
