Qualifications

• Technical school or machining apprenticeship completion.
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience in relevant machine operating roles.
• Experience in operating manual lathes and mills.
• Experience with prototype, repair, tool room, or low-volume production work.
• Welding, fabrication, or CNC machining experience.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
• Proven skills in soldering or brazing
• Experience with manual, electric and hydraulic presses
• Experience in bead blasting and finishing techniques

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, and other conventional equipment.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine tolerances.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for materials and jobs.
• Machine components from steel, aluminum, brass, plastics, and alloys.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, and related operations.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other gauges.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and meet customer specs.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues; implement corrective actions.
• Perform machine adjustments and preventive maintenance.
• Compute dimensions, tolerances, and material needs using shop math.
• Maintain production records and inspection documentation.
• Follow safety, quality standards and housekeeping requirements.
• Assist fixture development and process improvements; mentor junior operators.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production to resolve issues.
• Maintain 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
