Job summary

Omnimax, a leading international building products company, seeks an experienced manual machinist to set up and operate non-CNC tools. You will fabricate precision parts, measure with micrometers, and ensure conformance to drawings.

Candidates must pass a drug screen and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate tools, and performing basic maintenance while working with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• 3-5 Years of Manual lathe, manual surface grinder and manual milling machine experience.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
• Must be able to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Very good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as manual lathes, manual milling machines, and manual surface grinders.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance using micrometers.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and many specialized variation tools for precision machining.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Study blueprints and drawings to determine methods and dimensions for fabrication and tolerances.
• Select tools, machines, and materials for preparation of machinery work.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock for cuts placement.
• Observe and listen to operating machines to diagnose malfunctions and determine repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist in installing new equipment; rigs and moves as required.
