Job summary

ITT Inc. in Stafford, TX is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to support repair, remanufacturing, and aftermarket service in our Houston PRO Services facility. You will perform precision machining on large rotating and stationary components using manual tools, with emphasis on HBMs and VTLs.

You will independently set up, machine, inspect, and document components to meet OEM specs and customer requirements, while maintaining safety and quality across the shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years of manual machining experience in a repair/manufacturing/job shop environment.
• 5+ years of experience operating Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM).
• 5+ years of experience operating Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL).
• Experience machining large rotating equipment components preferred.
• Overhead crane and rigging experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual HBM, VTL, engine lathes, radial drills, milling machines and related shop equipment.
• Machine pump components and rotating parts including casings, bearing housings, impellers, shafts, seals, and wear parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, OEM prints, and repair procedures.
• Determine machining methods, tooling, work holding, speeds and feeds.
• Perform boring, facing, drilling, reaming, tapping, grooving, threading and turning to spec.
• Conduct precise measurements with micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, depth gauges, calipers.
• Inspect finished work and verify dimensional accuracy against drawings.
• Maintain documentation and quality records.
