Job description

• Sell, lead, and manage complex restructuring client engagements
• Initiate and convert business opportunities and collaborate with Senior Managing Directors to sell and deliver engagements generating $3–$5 million+ annually
• Provide guidance to Ankura teams and clients regarding analytical approaches and methodologies
• Set expectations with clients and constituencies regarding analytical capabilities
• Manage multiple complex initiatives and analyze restructuring concepts and agreements
• Facilitate restructuring processes with various constituencies
• Oversee work across multiple engagements
• Establish achievable engagement timelines that satisfy client needs and available resources
• Engage key constituencies during report drafting to align the approach with external expectations
• Guide teams on communication strategy, argument structure, and key messaging
• Establish and maintain relationships with senior client executives
• Provide engagement leadership to Ankura teams and clients
• Drive revenue growth and capture market share

Requirements

• Minimum 20+ years of relevant restructuring / distressed experience
• Minimum 10+ years of professional services experience
• Track record of generating $3 - $5 million+ annually and personally billing in the $900+ / hour range
• Strong personal brand within Restructuring & Turnaround advisory and deep market-making relationships across relevant law firms, investment banks, and corporates
• Undergraduate degree from a top academic institution
• Expertise defining, influencing and driving change at executive levels and across stakeholders
• Exceptional negotiation skills with complex/sophisticated situations involving executive and board level stakeholders
• Ability to develop credible recommendations under shortened time constraints and imperfect information
• High energy style, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adapt to complex client environments and situations
• Proven track record of planning for and proactively mitigating engagement risks
• Hands-on experience building, developing, and overseeing integrated 3-statement financial and 13-week cash flow models
• Ability to recognize critical areas requiring analysis and review while understanding the big picture
• Experience rapidly synthesizing complex unstructured information and applying business judgment to identify impacts and solutions
• Expert written communication skills and self-directed client-ready document and presentation development
• Articulate, persuasive communication and ability to handle executive and difficult audiences while adapting style to the audience
