The role partners with clients to structure transactions, manage legal risk and ensure compliance across projects in a fast-moving mobility landscape. The successful candidate will report to MAS leadership and collaborate with Toyota associates worldwide, overseeing complex deals, venture arrangements, and strategic agreements.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree/Bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum 10 years of solid legal practice, preferably in a major law firm or multinational corporation.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across time zones and cultures.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex strategic transactions, including joint ventures, manufacturing, supply, and cross-border deals.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a high volume of complex commercial agreements.
• Advise on legal issues, risks and business strategies with executives and affiliates.
• Manage trade compliance matters including export controls, sanctions, and customs.
• Stay current on evolving mobility and technology topics (AI, electrification, data privacy).
• Support improvement of standard legal processes and manage outside counsel.
