Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking an experienced Managing Counsel to join the Mobility Advisory Solutions (MAS) group. You will partner with clients to structure transactions, manage legal risk, and advise on complex cross-border matters across manufacturing, supply, and technology initiatives.

The role requires a JD with 10+ years of experience, cross-functional collaboration, and travel of 15–20%. Based in Plano, TX, you’ll influence strategic projects with diverse stakeholders and lead outside

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and bar admission in at least one U.S. state/jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of solid legal practice experience, preferably in a major law firm and/or multinational corporation.
• Experience working as part of a cross-functional or culturally diverse team, including across time zones and cultures.
• Team player with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 15–20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transactional matters, including joint ventures, manufacturing, supply, and commercial agreements.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and manage high volumes of complex agreements.
• Advise on legal issues, risks, and strategies in collaboration with business leads and executives.
• Manage trade compliance matters, including export controls and sanctions.
• Stay current on mobility, AI, data privacy, cross-border transactions, and tech developments.
• Improve standard legal processes and agreements as the company grows.
• Oversee outside counsel and legal spend.
