Job summary

Empower is seeking a Sr Manager VSA Accounting and Reporting to oversee US statutory and GAAP reporting for Separate Accounts, subsidiaries, and affiliates. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge and supervisory experience in financial reporting.

Responsibilities include managing quarterly and annual statements, enhancing processes, and guiding new disclosures in response to regulatory guidance. A collaborative, detail‑oriented leader will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of financial reporting experience required.
• Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Public accounting or investment related financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Statutory (NAIC) and/or GAAP accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff responsible for quarterly/annual statutory NAIC reporting and VSA accounting.
• Oversee investment presentation in the financial statements quarterly.
• Research and propose new disclosures and modifications to reports in response to pronouncements and investment types.
• Interpret new pronouncements by authoritative associations for accounting implications.
• Oversee process improvements and system enhancements to improve efficiency.
• Oversee audits for Investments and explain the Company's position.
