Job summary

Empower is seeking a Sr Manager VSA Accounting and Reporting to lead U.S. statutory and GAAP financial reporting for Separate Accounts, subsidiaries and affiliates. This role requires strong knowledge of NAIC pronouncements and investment reporting.

Responsibilities include managing staff, overseeing quarterly and annual statements, and ensuring effective internal controls while supporting process improvements and regulatory compliance in a dynamic insurance-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of financial reporting experience
• Strong knowledge of NAIC and GAAP
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
• Public accounting or investment reporting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee statutory NAIC reporting and annual financial statements for the company and subsidiaries
• Oversee investment presentation in the financial statements quarterly
• Research and propose disclosures for new pronouncements and investment types
• Interpret pronouncements and guidelines for accounting and reporting implications
• Oversee audits for investments and explain the company’s position
