Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager, Technical Applications Engineering to lead a cross-functional team in Louisiana. You will own the technical supplier integration process, ensure complete vendor data, and drive standards across Engineering, Supply Chain, and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Technical Application Engineering organization.
• Manage organizational priorities, staffing, and workload across multiple programs.
• Develop KPIs and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
• Own the development, maintenance, and governance of Engineering’s sections of Purchase Technical Specifications.
• Standardize technical procurement documentation across business units and product lines.
• Ensure specifications communicate engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to improve specification quality and consistency.
• Establish and manage enterprise processes governing Vendor Furnished Information.
• Ensure supplier documentation is complete, technically accurate, and aligned with program schedules.
• Coordinate review and approval of supplier drawings, manuals, certifications, calculations, software, and documentation.
• Ensure supplier information is incorporated into engineering deliverables, PLM systems, and configuration-controlled documentation.
• Serve as Engineering’s primary technical interface with suppliers.
• Coordinate technical communications between suppliers and internal engineering organizations.
• Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and technical performance reviews.
• Resolve technical issues impacting supplier deliverables.
• Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate supplier technical capabilities during sourcing activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Applications Engineering Senior Manager with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline and at least 10 years of engineering experience, with 5+ years of leading engineering teams. The candidate will lead the Bollinger organization’s technical supplier integration function, serving as the primary interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, and external suppliers. This role is responsible for ensuring supplier technical information is complete, accurate, and effectively integrated into the company’s products and engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

The Technical Application Engineering organization owns the development and governance of Purchase Technical Specifications (PTS), management of Vendor Furnished Information (VFI), coordination of supplier technical communications, and integration of supplier deliverables into engineering designs. The Senior Manager establishes standardized processes that improve engineering efficiency, supplier collaboration, and technical data quality.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience and 5+ years of leading engineering teams
• Experience working with supplier technical management, engineering documentation, or product integration
• Application Engineering Experience
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional engineering initiatives
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, configuration management, and technical documentation

SKILLS

• Experience in high volume Vendor / Manufacturer correspondence
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
• Experience with ERP systems and engineering change processes
• Experience in complex engineered products or regulated industries
• Experience in Shipbuilding
