Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of direct project engineering experience in marine new construction.

You will coordinate multi-discipline engineering tasks, develop and maintain the integrated engineering master schedule (IMS), manage budgets and technical activities, and ensure compliance with USCG/IMO requirements and classification rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule engineering tasks among various disciplines for assigned projects
• Initialize, organize, and monitor engineering projects
• Develop and control project deadlines, IMS, budgets, and technical activities
• Oversee requirements analysis to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
• Capability to provide field engineering services for timely resolution of engineering concerns at the production shipyard
• Work closely with the Director of Project Engineering to integrate project activities and technical products
• Provide technical support to business development, estimating, and on-site support teams
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the project to customers, the Program Management Office, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Outside Design Agents, and Regulatory Authorities

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of direct Project Engineering (or similar) experience in the design and development of marine new construction projects. The candidate will coordinate and schedule the engineering aspects of assigned projects across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and naval architecture. Responsibilities include initializing, organizing, and monitoring engineering projects, developing and controlling deadlines (including development and maintaining integrated engineering master schedule (IMS)), budgets, and technical activities on multiple projects. The role ensures vessel compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory agency requirements. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Director of Project Engineering to direct the integration of project activities and technical products, providing technical support to business development, estimating, and on-site support teams. The Project Engineer shall at the discretion of the Director of Project Engineering perform field engineering work related to the ongoing projects for which the Project Engineer is responsible. These efforts are to facilitate an ongoing relationship and liaison between engineering and the production shipyard program management team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of5 years of direct Project Engineering (or similar) experience in the design and development of marine new construction projects
• Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Experience
• Must be a U.S. National

SKILLS

• Ability to recognize and organize the capabilities of project team members into an effective and efficient team
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with USCG (CFR) and IMO statutory regulations (SOLAS, IBC) as well as classification requirements (ABS, LR, DNV)
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office products and computer-assisted engineering software
• Working knowledge of project management software (MS Project) and change management principles is a plus
