Job summary

CFS in the Annapolis, MD area seeks a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to join its growing finance team. This role will serve as a key technical accounting resource, evaluating complex transactions, researching conclusions, and supporting quarterly and annual reporting activities.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with public company exposure.
• Strong technical accounting research experience.
• Experience drafting accounting position papers and memos, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review accounting memos and policy documentation.
• Evaluate accounting treatment for complex investment and financing transactions.
• Partner with finance, legal, investment, and operations teams regarding transaction structuring and accounting implications.
• Support accounting for equity method investments and complex investment structures.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Support SOX compliance and internal control initiatives.
• Participate in impairment and other technical accounting analyses.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.

Preferred

• Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience
• Technical Accounting, SEC Reporting, or Audit Manager background
• Experience with complex investment structures
• Exposure to financial services, investment management, infrastructure, REIT, or energy-related industries
