We are partnering with a high-growth, publicly traded global consumer products company on a Senior Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Analyst opportunity. The role sits within the Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team and will have significant exposure to SEC reporting, technical accounting, financial statement preparation, and cross-functional projects.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while helping the organization navigate new accounting standards, complex transactions, and ongoing reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research and analyze new and revised accounting standards and their impact on the business
- Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation for complex areas including stock compensation, hedging, leases, segment reporting, and asset impairments
- Lead the preparation and administration of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K earnings releases
- Prepare quarterly financial statements, including the cash flow statement, and support XBRL tagging and review
- Draft financial statement disclosures related to new accounting standards and significant transactions
- Monitor SEC filings, peer disclosures, comment letters, and industry trends
- Maintain and update global accounting policies
- Perform financial reporting controls, disclosure checklists, certifications, and tie-out procedures
- Conduct financial statement variance analysis and identify opportunities to improve reporting
- Support internal and external audit requests, including SOX requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes through automation and technology
- Partner with global teams to improve reporting processes and provide guidance on accounting standards and reporting tools
- Support ad hoc technical accounting and finance projects
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Active CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or SEC reporting experience
- 3+ years of Big 4 or national public accounting experience preferred
- At least 2 years of corporate experience with a publicly traded company and SEC reporting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
- Experience with complex financial reporting and technical accounting matters
- Advanced Workiva experience is required
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, OneStream, SAP BPC, or similar financial systems is a plus
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines
