Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Development

New York, New York

YES Network, the #1 Regional Sports Network in the country, seeks a Senior Manager of Strategy & Business Development to join its team based in NYC. Reporting to the VP of Strategy and Business Development, in this high-impact role you will help shape the future of YES, driving innovation and revenue growth in the evolving sports media landscape. In this role, you will lead the key initiatives that will enable YES to continue to thrive in an evolving sports media ecosystem. This includes driving growth of The Gotham Sports App DTC subscription business, developing new revenue streams, and expanding YES’ distribution and reach. In addition, you will spearhead cross-functional initiatives with senior leaders in Marketing, Finance, and Advertising Sales to drive strategic transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the VP of Strategy and Business Development and SVP of Finance, prepare and maintain YES’ Digital Business P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and modeling new scenarios
• Opportunity for growth into P&L leadership role
• Lead cross-functional teams and / or external partners to achieve strategic goals
• Integrate new strategies in the context of legacy business models
• Lead preparation of quarterly Board of Directors materials
• In partnership with strategic and financial investors, identify potential M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships with leagues, teams, media companies, and external vendors
• Oversee audience research and user analytics to generate actionable insights for the business and ad-sales teams
• Evaluate and develop strategic responses to major trends in the sports and media ecosystems (e.g., changing consumption habits, digital advertising, team / league media rights strategies)
• Special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS / BA, MBA Optional
• 4-6 years’ experience in consulting, strategy, business development, product management, and / or finance
• Deep understanding of trends, challenges, and opportunities in the direct-to-consumer sports media space
• Proven ability to negotiate and structure high-impact partnerships
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Experience developing effective working relationships in a cross-functional environment
• Demonstrated success in navigating and solving complex strategic challenges in media and sports
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Team-oriented with high proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and written / verbal communication skills
