Job summary

Hunter Shore Group seeks a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Direct to lead technically complex direct categories with high-visibility impact. You will partner with engineering and drive strategic sourcing decisions, balancing supplier negotiations and value engineering.

This role offers significant autonomy and senior leadership exposure. Based in New York or Florida, the position combines a strong base with bonus and RSU opportunities, reflecting the strategic importance of the role within

Qualifications

• Strong Direct Procurement / Strategic Sourcing experience.
• Experience sourcing engineered products, equipment or complex services.
• Aviation, aerospace or MRO experience preferred but not required.
• Experience partnering with engineering and technical stakeholders.
• Negotiation with OEMs, Tier suppliers and sophisticated service providers.
• Understanding of specifications, cost drivers, TCO and value engineering levers.
• Proven player/coach leadership and hands-on approach.

Job description

We’re excited to be partnering with a complex, consumer-facing organization on the appointment of a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Direct.

This is a high-visibility, player/coach opportunity leading technically complex, operationally critical Direct categories.

Category experience can include:

• Engine maintenance / MRO
• Aircraft components and repair
• Aircraft safety equipment
• Avionics and electrical systems
• Aircraft interiors and cabin systems
• Landing gear, wheels, brakes, hydraulics and other technical systems
• Other engineered products, equipment or technically complex Direct categories

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong Direct Procurement / Strategic Sourcing experience
• Experience sourcing engineered products, equipment, components or technically complex services
• Aviation, aerospace or MRO experience is preferred, but not required
• Relevant experience may also come from Defense & Space, Automotive/EV, Rail/Transportation, Heavy Equipment/Industrial Machinery, Medical Devices, Electronics/High-Tech Hardware, Energy or other engineered product environments
• Strong experience partnering with Engineering and technical stakeholders
• Experience negotiating with OEMs, Tier suppliers and/or sophisticated technical service providers
• An understanding of specifications, cost drivers, TCO and value-engineering levers
• Proven player/coach leadership
• A self-directed, inquisitive and hands-on approach
