Job summary

Park Avenue Armory is seeking a Manager of Special Events to lead high‑end fundraising events, including the annual Gala, with a focus on donor cultivation and logistics. You will coordinate budgets, manage contractors, and collaborate with the Development team to maximize philanthropic impact in New York.

The role requires 2–3 years of nonprofit events experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Tessitura experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in managing special events or frontline fundraising for nonprofits.
• Strong organizational and detail‑oriented abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional discretion.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fundraising events, including the annual Gala, with budgets over $2.7M.
• Oversee logistics, contracts, catering, and vendor coordination for events.
• Collaborate with Development and donor groups on event strategy.
• Lead a small events team and coordinate with internal departments.
• Maintain calendars, run of show, and post-event reporting.
