As a Capital One Sr. Manager Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

About the Team

Join our customer servicing data teams as we work on the data strategy that will enable Gen AI assisted customer servicing within Capital One. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers to maintain and develop a platform that provides real-time data and insights to serve customers.

What You’ll Do

1. Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions meeting regulatory needs.
2. Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in tech communities, mentor others, and occasionally evaluate or write code.
3. Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that enhance experiences for millions of Americans.
4. Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go; work with open source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; manage containers with Docker and Kubernetes; and leverage AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience (excluding internships)
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• 9+ years in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
• 3+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud services
• 4+ years in open source frameworks
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years practicing Agile methodologies

Salary Range

The annual salary range for this role varies by location:

• McLean, VA: $225,400 - $257,200
• New York, NY: $245,900 - $280,600

Other locations will have pay ranges reflective of local market conditions. Salaries are subject to the specifics of the offer and may include performance incentives.
